Is this game worth trying?

My brother told me that Silent Hill Downpour got very negative reviews and said that I shouldn't bother buying it.

I played and beat the first silent hill game and absolutely loved it!

I didn't realize that there were roughly 8 games in the silent hill franchise.

I also played Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 and finished those games. Played 4 and Homecoming and kinda lost interest and never finish the game. Don't know about down pour but what I read at Gamespot http://asia.gamespot.com/silent-hill-downpour/ could be worth checking out

I beat the first silent hill, played 3/4 through silent hill the room, but then I got stuck and quit.
