so i was thinking about upgrading my pc and this is the perfect time...it's a gaming pc obviously...so here's the specs:
cpu:intel i5 4690(non k)
cpu cooler:cm hyper evo 212
gpu:gtx 1070(it's coming out this june :D )
mobo:ASUS H97-PRO GAMER
ram:8gb ddr3
psu:cougar cmx 700w V2
case:cooler master k380
win 8.1
so i want to know if everything is compatible...(i know that the gtx 1070 is not out yet but guess)
and if this pc can run all the latest games maxed out settings at 1080p @45+fps for the next 2-3+ years...i'm gonna play games like:cod infinite warfare, battlefield 1,gta 5,witcher 3,doom,dishonored 2,star citizen, wow, guild wars 2,smite,just cause 3,etc...
is this pc capable of doing that?is 8gb ram enough?since im trying to save some money to get battlefield 1...no skylake plz cuz im not gonna get the ddr4 ram.
thx in advance :D

It's faster, more efficient, but, perhaps more importantly, you get the benefits of a newer state-of-the art platform that will even work with the next generation of cpus(cabbylake). So say in 3-5 years games are way better hyperthreaded and your i5 is showing it's age: you just buy a cheap cabbylake i7 second hand, add another 8 gigs of ram and prolong teh platform's life for another 3 years.
I did not know that an i5-5690 existed. Can you post a link to one for sale?

From what I know of the 5000 series Intel CPU's is they cost way more then the equivalent Skylake CPU's and as such a i5-6600 (non k) and 16 GB DDR4 RAM will cost about the same.

RAM is suffiecently innexpensive that it's really not worth not going with skylake.
Also, get Win 10, especially if you want to play future games(DX12 is W10 exclusive)

This is what you should get as it also seems that that cooler will not fit in that case:

This PSU will be sufficient to SLI two 1070s if you so choose.

EDIT: note that you don't really need a cooler for this non-k CPU. The stock one will do, and is quiet enough.

My budget is 700$MAX...since im saving a little money for battlefield 1...so may i ask why is the skylake better than the 4690???i mean is there's a significant difference???

EDIT:i saw that the 4690 is actually BETTER than the skylake...

What's wrong with the i5 4690 build??
