Is this gaming pc build overkill?

Extra Information: 1600x900 resolution, "High" video settings preset.

You can run those even on a gtx 950, but if you can afford it, the gtx 960 is the better choice for the future, also if you can buy gtx 960, change it with r9 380, its the better choice.

No.......It is not an overkill... In-fact, it is just a decent gaming machine.. Nice processor for gaming, decent graphics card and RAM -..Not even the gtx 980 would be an overkill...

Just for fun I made a $385 build with, theoretically more power: Build Link, thoughts? For the records I have no interest in securing upgrade ability, I'd rather get it cheaper now and save up for an upgrade in the future. Helps me eat.

With this fm2+ board you would have to buy a new motherboard, new CPU and eventually new ddr4 ram if you wanna upgrade in the future. The 380 will most likely be bottlenecked from the CPU, therefore you could get a 270x instead.

the amd build jst dnt go with it....
the first build u need to change the psu its a low quality one...

I understand, I thought the new, cheaper build I made was better in theory since it has a quad core processor and a better GPU as well as PSU.
