Appears the reviews are talking about the driver(s), just make sure once you install the card to go to AMD's website and get the newest driver for that card. I can assure you XFX makes good cards as most of my AMD cards were through them and never ran into any issues.

The XFX RS doesn't have much better cooling than the reference blower style design. Small heatsink with relatively high temps, can't be overclocked with stock voltage but if you undervolt the graphics card you'll remain around 75 degrees under load. If you don't undervolt you'll reach 83 degrees without overclocking.

CTurbo already mentioned it, but for the RX 480 the MSI Gaming is quite solid. Cheaper too.
