can't tell much from the image.

there should be an audible "click" when inserting the card into the PCIe slot.
they can withstand a bit of force so try pushing it directly in with a bit of strength.

if you believe the card isn't functioning with this particular PCIe slot, try another.

I believe so, but without being able to see the back end of the slot, with the lever, can't say 100% but I'd say I'm 95% confident based on what I can see. Is the slot cover sitting against the case? Or is it floating slightly out from the case? When fully seated it should be resting against the metal of the case along the full length of the "L"
