Question Is this hard drive dead?

I plugged in a hard disk from my previous build abut 5-6 years ago, which got fried due to power surge. I never checked it again, and now after finding it, and hooking it up, it never shows up. I have tried multiple cables and ports, but to no effect. I try to feel for any vibration or sound after connecting it, but I don't think I get any.

I have actually. Just wanted to see if it's still alive, what data could I retrieve from it. Because one of the drives in my current build survived that frying accident.

Possibly not much, but to do that might prove costly. Not worth it, IMHO.

There is often an easy, no-cost, DIY fix for these types of failures.

If you upload a photo of your PCB, I'll show you what to do.
