Is this LED strip safe inside a PC?

It should be, it's similar to the one I'm using. A couple things to be aware of, led sizing. The "3528" portion refers to the size of the led bulb. It's smaller than 5050 leds. 3528 means more smaller lights on a slightly narrower strip with less light output per bulb, 5050's have more light output due to the larger bulbs and the strip's just a little wider.

Another thing to be aware of, there are a ton of different kits being sold in a variety of configurations. Some are just the led strip, some are the strip and remote control with receiver, others include everything needed. That particular kit you're looking at includes the strip, the controller box and the remote but it will still need a...

Some are just the led strip, some are the strip and remote control with receiver, others include everything needed. That particular kit you're looking at includes the strip, the controller box and the remote but it will still need a power supply. Most likely a 5v with 3.5mm barrel jack connector. In other words that kit isn't completely plug n' play, it's missing the power cable.

A kit like this includes the wall adapter power cable needed to power it.

That specific kit is set up to be used in the eu so the plug isn't the right style if you're from the u.s., you'll need a kit with a u.s. 110v wall adapter. Also plan on using some hot glue (easy to apply, peels off clean without taking the paint off the case interior if it's not where you want it) or getting some additional double backed sticky tape. The included adhesive tape likely won't work well. It's pretty common for most of these kits, even the ones that use genuine '3m' branded adhesive strips. It's such a thin strip it doesn't stick so well and tends to let get pretty easily.

If that adapter won't work there are some designed to plug into the psu via molex. I opted for an external power supply strip only because I was concerned if it was cheap and wired funky, I didn't want it taking out my psu. Where my case sits it's a non issue other than I had to mod the bottom of the case to fit the barrel plug so it could be routed into the case. It's just a little too fat to fit through one of the pci slot openings at the back. It might be an issue (one more cable from the pc to the wall outlet), depends on your personal needs. If the wall plug isn't an issue but the adapter is too large and covers additional outlets on a power strip there are adapters with a standard plug with an inline power converter like the bricks used for laptops.
