Yes, however I would suggest that you do not go with that choice. Those are last generation products, and they're greatly outdone in Intel's current generation products. I'd suggest an i5 2500k and any Sandy Bridge motherboard, preferably an ASUS, MSI, or Gigabyte product. These will greatly outperfrom the entire Phenom II series in every single game/application you throw at em

Yeah that will power any modern game with the right GPU.

I'm not actually looking for just power, I want solid 60fps with max settings on current-gen games. This is an economical solution for me if this setup achieves my goals.

That setup will no doubt run any game depending on your GPU choice, but you might want to consider the 955BE C3 its cheaper and can achieve the same performance as the 965. I personally would not get AMD right now with Sandy Bridge out you can get a good bit more performance for around the same amount of cash.

Hi ...All the above posts are right in their own way ,but if it is your budget that you are thinking of then you may as well buy the parts that you quoted plus a good graphic card ...The quad core you chose is O.K.,but not the best...Also make sure that you get a good computer case for this set up that has one of those fans that can cool the underside of your cpu socket area of your future mainboard/motherboard...Coolermaster has a model and I think it is one of the CM-692 series,but make sure that the case has a space provided for a fan to go underneath the cpu socket area of the M/B for that little bit of extra cooling ...This may help your frame rates per second depending on what kind of overclocking you do ...
