Gigabyte H61M DS2 Motherboard
i5 3570k CPU
GTX 970
8gb DDR3 1333MHz RAM
XFX PRO 550w

So my problem is that yesterday I managed to kill my motherboard, so I am in need of replacements, as well as my RAM .

I found a decent looking motherboard that fits my needs (black paint job, 4RAM slots etc) and it's called Asrock Q77M and it is only £85 (Link-http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262216206738?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT), I was wondering if this would be a suitable upgrade? Or is there a better one out there for cheapier (or slighly more)?

Also, I am in need of 16GB DDR3 RAM, and have my eyes on the corsair vengence 4x4GB sticks clocked at 1600MHz, will this also be fine?

Thanks in advance!

While a Z77 board would be best, The Q77 has PCIe 3.0, a few SATA 3 ports and USB 3.0 so it is still an upgrade over the H61 board. The price isn't bad considering the availability of Ivy Bridge parts these days. You'll be fine with the Q77 board and it will keep your system alive for a while longer. You can even do a little BCLK overclocking with your 3570K if you want for a small boost in performance.

The board supports up to DDR3 1600 so you should not have any problems with the Corsair memory, but 8GB is enough for most users and the speed difference between 1333 and 1600 won't be noticeable so I recommend installing the board first and not buying new memory to see how it performs.
