The sockets are the same.

I believe you will be limited to PCIe 2.0, despite the board supporting PCIe 3.0, the big change with Ivy Bridge was PCIe 3.0 support. Other than that, the CPUs and boards are interchangeable as long as they are the same socket.

Platform being newer doesn't really tell the whole story. You couldn't use a Z87 or Z97 board for example.

It looks pretty light when it comes to CPU VRMs, so it may not let you get every last drop out of the CPU, but you'll be able to overclock.

If you are limited to Micro ATX then I'm not sure what to recommend. ATX boards, and some Mini ITX boards are usually where the heavy duty configs come in. I imagine there aren't too many reasonably priced boards around at all.

A newer platform supports an older CPU, while an older platform might need a BIOS update for it. On the same socket, of course.
Doesn't seem like a special overclocker, 5 phase design, It's actually below average for today's standards.

The website I linked is selling it new, but yeah it has been extremely hard to find a good motherboard with this socket. Thanks for all your help guys.
