I'm not really a fan of overclocking. For the extra money you'd spend on a nice CPU cooler and motherboard you could practically just upgrade to a better CPU.

Overclocking is mostly useful for extending the lifespan of a CPU +mobo you already own, or for when money is no object and you just need the absolute best performance. Buying a budget CPU with the intention of overclocking it is usually a waste, and a needless risk.
