Im thinking to build a new gaming PC and was compairing components from my friends pc's. (Note, this is a budget PC build for 1080p gaming).

I was thinking of building a Intelcore i3 8100, an MSI RX 580 with a Z370-A PRO motherboard with a 450W PSU , 500GB SSD and 8 GB ram.

Friends PC has a Intel core i5 8400,a GTX 1060 3 GB with a MSI H310M PRO-VD m-ATX Intel Coffee Lake LGA 1151 Motherboard with 600W PSU ,1TB HDD and 8GB ram.

Currently on amazon, all his components are more expensive than those I planned to buy, except his mother board, wich is like half the price of mine.

Is it worth getting the Coffee Lake instead of the Z370 A Pro for the build I want? If not ,Im open to suggestion. TIA

odds are wherever you friend bought his PC they used lower quality parts to keep the price down. they may even used some refurbished parts too

How much power would you recommend?

600W is enough to see you for a long time, I think its more the sweet spot nowadays for most systems.
Remember, things don't like to run 100% ,so 70% of max rating is ideal.
