My temperature is ridiculously high and i'm also wondering if this is the reason my 4790k isn't boosting up to the 4.4 it should do.
Looking for some advice.
I am going to get a cooler soon as I have been running stock intel on this processor for over 6 years.

I don't get it tho cos I game alot. And also in summer. and it seems to work fine. I am getting a better cooler tomorrow tho.
Think I'll get much of an FPS boost?
I had mine running at 4.7GHz 24/7 before I switched to AMD. But with that, my 4790K idle temp is 40c and maxing out at 70c-75c on full load. Which I didn't mind, was legit just waiting for my PC to blow up and fry.

My 4790K was partnered up with Kraken X61 and TG Kryonaut paste btw if it helps. Without that paste, it'll be at 85c to 100c for sure.

That paste makes little difference.
My 4790K has was @ 4.8 with a Cryorig R1 cooler and the paste that came with it about 80c under load.
