So in msi afterburner, i see the temperature idle is 37 celsius but sometimes it spikes up to 47 and than goes back down. i got the stock wraith cooler on there that came with the cpu and the thermal paste is pre applied to the heatsink.
Perfectly normal. Windows is always doing little processes in the background and you will see small spikes like that all the time. Nothing to worry about, no where near a temp to be concerned about.
Considering that Win is always doing stuff in the background (not to mention any other apps/services, etc/. you may have running in the background at idle), that is normal. My 1600X is constantly doing that.
