Question Is This Normal In windows 10?

Asus Z170-A motherboard
Intel 6600K CPU-OverClocked@4.3 w/Hyper Cooler
GTX 1060 6gb
16GB Ram
Win10 Pro v1703

Task Manager--CPU 32%-Memory 28%-Disk 0%-Network 0%-GPU 0%-Power Usage-Very High Power Usage trend-Very High
This is Win10 task manager. My concern is the very high part. Is this normal or a sign that something is wrong?b THANKS

P.S. I also have Core 1 stuck on 100% . 2,3 and 4 fluctuate from 10-22%

It's normal; that's a feature that means that you have been running programs that utilize your components extensively (I'm assuming this is a gaming PC?).

You shouldn't be worried at all.

Yes this is a gaming PC. Thanks. I was concerned because I didn't see all this while I was running WIN7 Ultimate with the same specs. Only now that I have WIN10 I see this.

I have no idea what is pushing that core. I can't seem to find out what it is. It's been bugging me for the longest. It wasn't always like this in WIN10. It just recently started. Although task manger says CPU is at 32%, CPU meter is now showing core 1 at 100% and it wasn't like that when I installed WIN10 at the beginning. This WIN10 install was done about 3 weeks ago.

Have you tried a virus and malware scan just to eliminate that possibility?
Reordered CPU usage in Task Manager from highest to lowest? Should give some indication hopefully.

Best way to find out everything that's consuming CPU cycles is Process Explorer from Microsoft:

It seems to be WMI Provider Host that's showing a VERY HIGH power usage but also at no higher than 30%. Everything else is at 10% or lower. I tried Malwarebytes and it found nothing. Will try it again to be sure.

it's very simple to use...just download and unzip to a folder. It doesn't need installing and delete the folder and it is gone-gone. It's provided by the SysInternals folks. These are Microsoft engineers who use these tools themselves and wanted to make them available for others even though they are probably way to geeky for the average user and so would never make the Windows distro.

Read the web page and you'll get an overview and some links for further info.

When you run it, just look in the CPU column to see what's hitting the CPU. Look across and see what the process(es) is(are) that's causing it along with the PiD. You can also determine memory useage and a ton more information.

The HELP is extremely informative and fairly easy to read. You have to start with elevated privileges if you want to make changes (like KILL a process) so it's safe while exploring while not elevated.

System Idle should be a high CPU user when idle...but WMI could be any of a number of things causeing it.

I went thru that and it didn't help. I saw crazy amounts of errors and their clientID was not shown in task manger. But I did find something...it;'s call srvany.exe. Running that HIGH Power usage. Is srvany.exe something to be concerned about? When I disabled it the core 1 went down from 100% to normal. So it is that. I'm thinking it could be a mining hack that got into my pc, I had that once before when core 3 was stuck on 100%.
