I've always had a problem with this custom built pc of mine since I got it. It would turn off by itself after I turn it on. I've asked for help here before, I heard to make sure I had all my screws in. All my screws are in except for one, the middle one. The reason that there is no screw, is because the case has a metal rod that goes through the middle hole in the mobo.

I don't know what this is for, or if it's even supposed to be there. I do have a psu from one of those shady brands (retail plus), but it has worked on other pc's fine, and a evga gold psu on this pc does not fix the problem. I had the retail plus psu for about 5 - 6 years now, and I'm getting another problem with my pc - it will turn off whenever I'm gaming. After about 10 minutes it turns off, no blue screen. Sometimes it will turn back on, sometimes it will stay off. Once, it stayed off, and I had to flip the switch off and on again for it to turn back on.

So my question is: Is my computer shorting out because of the lack of a middle screw? If not, then what could be causing this problem?

Also, the case is thermaltake vm30001w2z http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=c_00001616

I changed out the psu and it makes the games not crash, but it still turns off sometimes right after I turn it on.

cpu - Intel i5 -4690k
gpu - nvidia gtx 770, oc edition
motherboard - asrock z97 extreme4/A/ASRK
psu - evga 750 g2
hdd - not sure, but I'll assume it doesn't matter. 7200rpm and 3 tb
ram - 16gb kingston, 1333 hertz

The shutting off when gaming was fixed with a new psu, but it still turns off after I turn it on sometimes.

Well, it should not do that.
Why is it doing that?

I broke the mb once, so I got a replacement and had the same problem with that one, even with the better psu.
