Is this okay for my CPU?

I have an i7 4790 and I just upgraded my ram from 8gb to 16gb... I had to remove the heatsink and didnt have thermal paste to re apply. Now my cpu temps are running high (around 80-85c) and I was wondering if that's okay for a couple of days while I order the thermal paste? Thank you!

It will be ok but will reduce the life spam of the CPU if you are doing some intensive CPU gaming I would be careful with what you play and how high the Temp goes

80-85c when? Under full load I hope. If it is hitting those temps at idle no that is not okay at all.

It should be fine, I would keep a close eye on temps until you can replace the paste.

If just for couple of days - you can use some other compound with similar properties.
Tooth paste actually is quite ok for short term use. But it will dry out soon though (and loose thermal conductivity effectiveness).

If you just need a couple of days help, take the side off your case and point a house fan at the CPU. Temps should drop a lot. Something like this should be fine.
