Is this okay to buy?

Solution
Amazon UK sells Win 7 HP legit cheapest. Alternatively, if you are a student Microsoft sell Win 8.1 Pro for only £49.99. And For only £10 you can get a disk for installing the OS. This worked out really well for me!

True, and all you need is a @.edu account (I think) to register for the student Microsoft deals.

Yep :)

That's pretty great! Amazon does sell it pretty cheap though if you do not have an .edu e-mail account.

Awesome, with the student thing (I'm not one, only just finished gcses) but my sister is so I guess I can get her to do it for me, is it only online that I can get that discount or can I go to say pc world or something and use a student card when buying windows 8.1?

buy it here: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/pdp/productID.288533400
If you want the disc it will cost you an extra £10 but it still works out £150 cheaper!

You buy it from a PC currently running Windows 7.
It must be a PC of the same bit level you want to end up with. 32bit or 64bit.
You get an exe.
Run that.
Early in the process, you will be presented with a dialog box, stating "Install now", or "Install later with media"
Choose the Media option.
This will allow you to create a DVD or USB stick. Do that...

It seems like a lot more hassle doing it, since I'd need to get my sisters I'd and all the other stuff, so I might just buy windows 7, if I buy windows 7 will I get a disk and code in the post to install it?
