Is this PC a bottleneck?

Planning on building a gaming pc, wondering if the GTX 960 is too much for the pentium g3258, please keep in mind that I am going to overclock it to close to 4.2 ghz, or maybe 4.4 ghz.

Depends on the game, but in more modern titles it will likely bottleneck quite a bit. Fallout 4 for example runs pretty bad on that cpu and far cry 4 wont even launch with duel core cpu's unless you make some tweaks.

The 960 is a bad choice in general. The 380 or 380x is a faster card at all resolutions and can usually be found cheaper.

Yep, that's a good choice. Don't forget that CPU can overclock like crazy and it's very easy to do.
