Hey guys. My cousin wants me to build him a computer for banking and listening/editing to music. I've made a part list and I was wondering if this is good or if anything is overkill. He wants it to be fast and $500 or under. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply! Ill take it into consideration. Also do you think not having a dual channel will make that much of a difference for his needs? He's never gonna game on this PC.

Maybe or maybe not. I chose a bit faster RAM to match the speed of the memory controller on that CPU, but if you get a 2400 MHz dual channel kit, it will only cost a few bucks more than the single stick you have chosen.

def go coffee lake, intel added 2 cores to all their price points. i5 8400 has great price/perf.
you do want dual channel.
