Hey guys,
I want to get myself a new PC.
I‘m just not quiet sure if this configuration will handle already existing games like PUBG, Fortnite, GTA 5, Escape from Tarkov, Battlefield 1, Sea of Thieves, Far Cry 5 etc. but also upcoming games like Call of Duty Black Ops 4, Battlefield 5, Just Cause 4 etc..
I am playing on a 60hz 1080x1920 monitor and would want to play on the highest settings.

I know that for some games we don’t know the minimum system requirements yet but if you had to take a guess what would you think?
Would it stay constantly over 60 fps in these games and how long do you think will it be able to handle the upcoming titles of the next years?

Thanks for your advices!

These are my components:
Case: FSP CMT520 RGB
CPU: Intel i5-8600K
CPU-Cooler: be quiet! Silent Loop 120
GPU: 6GB MSI GTX1060 GAMING X 6G
Mainboard: MSI B360M Pro-VDH
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Crucial DDR4 2400MHz Ballistix Sport LT grey
HDD: 1000GB SATA 6GB/s 7200rpm WD Blue WD10EZEX
SSD: SSD 120GB Patriot Burst (565MB/s - 540MB/s)
PSU: 500W BeQuiet PurePower 10

To be honest I would like to keep the CPU and CPU-Cooler because in some years it will be really usefull to have this processor overclocked and then maybe update the GPU.
But do u really think the 1070 is necessary?
(I already have the ram from my old PC ;D)

OK then, I believe that the 8600k will be OK. However, if you plan to overclock it I suggest a better cooler like the Noctua D15 or the corsair H100i. Also, I suggest getting an ATX motherboard, just so you can have more features and better aesthetics. Thing is, the gtx1060 is a good card, but will be playing at medium settings in a few years, so I suggest the gtx1070 if it does fit in your budget. Also, why get an 1TB HDD? Get 2TB, which is double the space for $20 more.

Well.

You will need a better GPU like a GTX 1070, GTX 1070Ti or better yet GTX 1080 if you want to play at max settings.

Faster ram like DDR4 3000

Better quality PSU like and 550W or 650W.

Seasonic Focus Plus
EVGA G2 or G3
Corsair RMX

Better quality SSD like a Samsung 850 or 860 and 250 GB

And a better CPU cooler like a Noctua D15.

Sadly I can't afford a better GPU but I could change the PSU to a 600W be quiet System Power B9.

Why would you recommend a faster ram?
Does it make a difference in games?

and why a SSD with more memory? I only want to have Windows on there so the PC can boot faster.
Is the CPU-cooler so bad?

Everyone is going to have their own preference on what sort of parts they like to use. The parts you picked are just fine. Only possible issue is the whole "playing on highest settings". While possible, you may not get a desirable FPS on some games with only a 1060. I'd try and get at least a 1070 if that's the case.

The CPU Cooler is "inadequate", not allowing you to reach higher clocks when overclocking. The power supply doesn't have to be from be quiet though and yes, in games that use the RAM a lot (eg rise of the tomb raider) it does make a difference (+-5fps). If you only plan to have windows in the SSD it is fine, but if you put anything more it will begin filling up. A futureproof SSD would be at least 250GB.

A balanced gamer will budget 2x the cost of the cpu for the graphics card; you are spot on there.

Your types of games responds best to a fast single master thread.
When overclocked the 8600K will perform the same as a overclocked 8700K(or the 4 core 8350K)
Perhaps in the 5.0 range.

When using a discrete graphics card, real app performance or fps is not much impacted by ram speeds.
2400 speed is OK, but I suspect you can fine 3000 speed for not much more.

120gb for a windows C drive is too small.
Many things default to the C drive.
Buy a 240gb ssd. I like Samsung evo.
Why not defer on the hard drive until you actually need room?

If your case has 160mm available for a tower type air cooler go that way.
Cheap AIO coolers are not very effective.
A noctua NH-D15s will cool better, be cheaper, more reliable, easier to install, quieter, and... will not leak.
Your parts will stay cleaner with a simple positive pressure airflow.

What about this?
I changed the SSD to a SSD 250GB Samsung 860-EVO (550MB/s - 520MB/s).
I also Changed the CPU-cooler to a be quiet! Dark Rock 4, the RAM to 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) G.Skill AEGIS DDR4 3000MHz and the PSU to a 600W be quiet System Power B9.

I could maybe afford a 8GB MSI GTX1070Ti GAMING if my parents would give me 200€ XD.

Does that sound good?

I know i could maybe get better parts but I'll have this PC build by a shop and they dont offer some of the things you guys recommended me.

These are the updated components:

Case: FSP CMT520 RGB
CPU: Intel i5-8600K
CPU-Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 4
GPU: 8GB MSI GTX1070Ti GAMING
Mainboard: ASRock Z370 Pro4
RAM: 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) G.Skill AEGIS DDR4 3000MHz
HDD: 1000GB SATA 6GB/s 7200rpm WD Blue WD10EZEX
SSD: SSD 250GB Samsung 860-EVO (550MB/s - 520MB/s)
PSU: 600W be quiet System Power B9

Do you think I'll have a bottleneck?

It won't bottleneck. The only recommendation is a better PSU, get a decent unit like the RM650 or the Supernova G2 650w. This config will be able to run even at 4K so its power will go wasted if you use it on 1080p.

I have just this week had a very interesting experience that might help you. I have a 10 yr old PC Intel Core 2 Quad 9300 @ 2.5 MHz with 8GB DDR3 RAM.

My gfx card was Radeon 3650HD, and is out of support as of Windows 10 and I had been keeping it running somehow. Finally started showing signs of dying, so decided to replace it. I was torn on price between 1060 or 1070TI. I have the plan to rebuild step by step so went with 1070ti to be more future proof.

The result absolutely shocked me... I am playing games via Steam Link so 1080p, and I started playing lower intensive games and stepping up each time. I ended up on Witcher 3 GotY and the game was silky smooth at high detail and no lag what so ever. Don’t know the frame rate exactly but it was smoother than any console games I play.

In short, the CPU progress over the years seems to be not very large GPU is the heart of gaming resource. With that said, I would recommend on focusing on the right GFX card. It’s definitely worth it. What I have read with 1070ti you get best value, it’s almost as fast as 1080 with quite a big saving. Currently even going at the same price as 1070.

I'm dizzy!! He spins me right round, baby, right round! :)

Anyone who's not mid forties probably won't get that reference :)

If there is anybody over the age of 10-15 or so who doesn't get the reference, I'm disappointed in the children of today!
