I have an old Dell dimension 9200 with PC2-5400 memory. I was looking for a cheap way to remove the current memory and get four 2gb sticks. I do not intend to do any overclocking with this computer.

Would this server ram work ok in my desktop?

It is so much cheaper than my other options I am skeptical but I do not see why it would not work.

Thanks !!!!

Check your original ram label. It's probably non-ecc. On page 82 of your dell manual, it specifically states that you can't mix ecc with non-ecc ram. Use your original ram label to find some cheap non-ecc ram. I sometimes find dell owners on craigslist selling their old ram. Dell boards are sometimes very ram specific, as their bios' don't have any adjustments for ram speed, timings, voltage, etc.
