then why can't you contact them and have them explain the situation?

they unbox & test everything at the store

and "open box" items are considerably cheaper than new products.
it does not matter what exactly has been done with the item, once that package is unsealed it is not "new" anymore.

i hope you are not paying full price for anything from them.
