[SOLVED] Is this port a ethernet port and if so how do i use it?

I live in a 2 story house theres a ethernet port downstairs and what looks like a ethernet port upstairs i was wondering how do i activate this ethernet.

Pull the screws from the plate and see if there is an 8-wire cable attached to the back of the port. If so, you'll need to find out where the other end terminates and get Ethernet active at that end.
