Is this possible?

I don't know if this is possible but I'm looking for a way to record games from my Xbox and then play them back later to the TV.

I have found options that accept HDMI in and out but none of them have the HDD onboard and seem to be ridiclously priced considering they have no drive fitted.

Many thanks in advance if anyone has a solution to this problem.

What Xbox model? I think the Xbox one can record without extra hardware.

It's an older Xbox that I was given about a year ago and I don't think it will record and play the game. What I was looking for is a way to play whilst recording the game and then play the recording back later at my leisure. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough on that point.
