Can i install windows xp on a laptop that already has windows 7 and keep both softwares. The reason i want windows xp is to play a few classics that i bought from steam they're not working to well on windows 7

You have several options, typically you can try installing the software on your Win 7 machine, see if they run. If that doesn't work try running them in compatibility mode(setting a known good OS version) or using the compatibility wizard. Depending on the game and software developer you may also need to run as Admin.
