Hi, im aware of how much better it is to create your own custom pc, but due to the gpu inflation and lack of stock going on for a while now, do u think this pre-build is worth?

Not really. A lot of flaws.

CPU is okay, if a little dated
A320 chipset is very low end and not suitable for future upgrades
2400Mhz memory is slow for Ryzen.
Small SSD, not a deal breaker, but odd choice.
Unbranded power supply at 400W, probably not something you should buy.

For the money, let me see if there is anything better out there.

That is just one additional e-tailer. Might shop around and check back for more opinions.

Those above don't have great motherboards or power supplies either, but that is par for the course. At least the CPUs are a little more suited for gaming.

Most of us do prefer a Zen 3, but right now, Intel prebuilts are a better value and getting GPUs is tricky.

If the Ryzen 5600X was priced $200, I would go with AMD. However, the 5600X is priced $300.
The cheapest B550 boards I would consider cost about the same as the cheapest B560 board I would consider, so no difference there.
Both the 3600(X) and the i5-11400 need an aftermarket HSF to maintain their best boost speeds, so no cost advantage to AMD there either.

If you drop down to the 3600(X) due to pricing, then the $170 11400F gains the performance-per-dollar upper-hand.

Going with a 3600(X) only makes sense if you plan to get a 5800X or better at some point in the future before getting an itch to just ditch the entire thing for a new platform.

I'm getting an i5-11400/B560M because I expect it to last 5-10 years (I'm still using an i5-3470, still mostly happy with it, though the rough spots in games and applications are multiplying) and I'll want a fresh platform to go along with whatever CPU I may want next, most likely skipping AM5 and LGA1700 altogether.

Yup, even though I prefer the Zen 3 ones right now, there's nothing wrong with Intel CPUs. It's not a repeat, after all, of the AM3+ era where it was just hard to recommend an AMD CPU in any type of gaming rig.

My old system does have a 3770k, and I was very happy with it.
Since last year I have a 3950x-system, and again very satisfied with it.

That means, as DSzymborski posted, nothing bad with neither Intel nor AMD.

Intel or AMD doesn't really matter, both are pretty equitable for gaming in their respective weight classes, win some lose some. Production usually favors Amd, but Intel isn't that far behind in the budget class, only on the high-end.

Most of that and other prebuilts cost is in the gpu, and a well balanced pc is going to cost more than a short-changed version like the original. That's why it's important to shop around. Many on these pre-built/boutique builders are in a jam. They do have contracts for gpus, but the only way they can often get those is in a bundle deal, if Acme wants some MSI gpus, they also have to buy some crappy A320 mobo's MSI can't get rid of otherwise.

So those get passed onto the pre-built buyer. This is an advantage to the buyer from boutique builders, as they get a choice of motherboards, but you will see higher gpu/motherboard prices as a result and often a longer waiting period if the boutique is doing all it can to avoid buying the bundles.

So shop around, see what's out there, compare results, see what's actually going to be value for your £ and not a rip-off.

You may be interested in a post i have on here, i was looking to sell a prebuilt very similar to the one you are looking at but with a slightly weaker gpu for less money. actually stuck trying to figure out a price as they are mental at the moment but around £700-£800 is more what that pc is worth to be honest with you

that is not a great deal but it's not terrible, the psu is a little suspect but the 1660 is not a power hungry card so there may not be an issue there. on the whole though you can do alot better for the price

in an ordinary world i'd recommend building your own, you can get a beast of a pc for 1k, infact if you go up £100-200 you may find yourself with a prebuilt without the same issues as this one, you may get a 3060, which will knock the socks of the 1660, maybe even a better processor on a better motherboard, a decent system builder shouldn't supply you with a low end powersupply at that point too

Maybe more like this if you can stretch the budget out but always remember that if your pc now is ok then you can wait, prices for this kind of thing may go up or down but if your are still happy with your current setup, keep it, don't pay the inflated prices and wait for a deal, make sure your happy with the price to perfomance whenever you do choose to spend money
