I have a Corsair TX 850w that I've had for about 3 years with no problems. The computer it is currently in doesn't really give it much of a work out though. I am in the process of building a new computer and was planning and just taking that TX 850w out of the current computer and putting it with the new build. I wanted to make sure it was a good PSU to use since I've been hearing about all of this negative Corsair PSU talk of the CX series. What are your thoughts?

Well that is certainly reassuring. Thanks for the quick responses!

A followup question for you guys, the less the PSU has to work (i.e. not being close to being maxed out) would that actually extend the life of the PSU and thus make it a bit more reliable?

Yeah, it seems it's a bit of a game of luck when it comes to any components for computers in which things can just show up dead no matter the brand or quality. I may just go ahead and buy another PSU in case my current one fails so that my computer will not be down just from that one old part. What kind of shelf life do PSU's have if they are not being used?
