Is this PSU enough?

Hello,

I am looking at the Corsair CX Series CX600 600W ATX 12V 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply 120mm Fan. I was wondering if it would be enough to support an i5-4690k (possibly overclocked), ASUS Radeon R9 280X OC, and ASUS Z97M-PLUS motherboard.

I wouldn't go with the CX series if planning on overclocking. They meet standards but that is it and don't always last as long as they should. Here is a link with a list of makes and models in tiers and I would suggest going with a tier two for what you are wanting to do around 650 watt. Corsair HX series is a lot better PSU than the CX although I do currently have a CX that has worked fine for the past 4 years roughly. Check out the followign link and see if you can find one in your budget that is in a higher tier.

Yes you can use that power supply without any problem.
But IMO, as BlacksunKing said, cx series arent very reliable, even if that psu handle that system, id recommend you to get a better brand. I myself own a XFX 550w that already handled a R9 280X and right now a GTX 770. If you are afraid that 550w arent enough get the XFX 650.

As BlacksunKing said, you should look at something other than the CX series. They have cheap capacitors and also don't operate properly under higher temps that gaming rigs tend to get to. For budget PSU's i'd look at XFX, SeaSonic, Rosewill Capstone, Antec HCG or Neo Eco. Usually one or more of these brands/series have a decent sale.
If you are in the states, this is the cheapest 600w+ that i'd get.
