Is this PSU fine for my new build?

Its not platinum rated and I requested my cousin to test it before sending it to me so that it works as expected. I'm just concerned whether it will destroy my PC parts that I bought from my cousin.

Intel core I5 13600K 3.5GHZ fourteen core LGA 1700
MSI B660 MAG Tomahawk Wifi D4 Intel LGA 1700 ATX
MSI Gaming Geforce RTX 2060 6GB GDRR6
Deepcool AK620
G.Skill Ripjaw V Series 32GB
Planning to not final is to include in Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink to the motherboard as well.

Is the Gold rated Prime PSU from Seasonic good enough or should I take cautions and get a better one?

That is an excellent PSU. It should more than meet your needs.

But when I looked at the PSU tier its not showing anywhere but the 1000w one hence I got concerned and I have not seen toms hardware review this gold rated one. Is it still fine regardless?

Linus forums also mentions this for the prime ones..

Seasonic PRIME based units experience shutdowns with RTX3080/3090 (and possibly RX6900 XT) GPUs, especially ones with unlocked power limit like FE and ASUS Strix. It is recommended, if going with such units, to overprovision wattage, 1kW for RTX3080 and 1.2kW for RTX3090, or power-limit the GPU, or performing a 'dirty' fix of disconnecting a pin of 12V V-sense wire from PSU-side connector of 24-pin motherboard cable (courtesy of Jonny Guru). Units based on post-2018 revisions of Seasonic Focus platform and majority of units by other OEMs are not affected.

Having no Idea on this what should I do if I do decide to get a better GPU should that time come?

I've always used gold rated PSUs from EVGA and have never had a single issue. Only thing I do is go for a little breathing room with the wattage... i.e. my previous build (10900k/3090) was about 780W so I ran with a 1000W unit.

New build is 7950x3D/4090 and around 900W... so I'm running a 1300W unit.

The tier listing can't be all inclusive. I have a system with one of those sitting right next to me that has run 24/7 for 5+ years. Zero issues.

If you want recommendations for alternative PSUs, what is your budget and from where will you purchase it?

No no this PSU my cousin bought already from newegg so I requested him to test it to see if it works as expected.

I guess my main problem is that if I do decide to get a 3060 or a 40 at some point, then I not only have to upgrade the PSU but also upgrade the UPS since it can only support upto 865w and there is no UPS that supports 1000w in my home and this one I have is the only good one.

Hence why I'm a little worried about the GPU upgrade. I mean I think the 2060 will do fine for my needs right now but still..

But I'm sorry I'm going off topic. If this PSU is good, then that's all it matters to me. Thank you so much!

The PSU is good. It's just a handful of good PSUs kinda got caught flat-footed that the 3080/3090 had insane power spikes. PSUs are designed for scenarios they're likely to be used for, after all.

Upgrading to a 3060 or a 3070 is unlikely to cause the problem and you'd probably be OK with a 3080 even. And in any case, this isn't a "destroy your PC" type thing, because these are good PSUs that have properly functioning safety features.

Don't feel bad about asking! It's far better to *over* worry about a PSU or risk getting a PSU *too* good for the task is needed than the opposite. And sadly, we have too many people show up here having done the opposite, to their regret.
