Is this PSU sufficient?

This is what i'm pretty sure i'm getting.

i5-3570k, asus hd7870, 4x4gb ram, 4 cases fans, 1-2 cpu heatsink fans, 120gb ssd (and soon an external hd, dunno if that will affect... or work LOL), and 1-2 disc drives.

Is an antec earthwatts 650w sufficient?

Yes, if you use only a single video card and don't push the overclocking too high.

idk about gpu, but if i want to OC the cpu i should go 700w? i can spend a couple more bucks if it'd be safer.

No. Look at the 12v rail rating; if it's 50 amps or higher, you'll be fine; overclocking isn't guaranteed; depends on luck of the draw, ram, power supply etc. Your best investment for overclocking is a huge heatsink properly installed.

yea, i just read a post saying 650w is more than sufficient for a i5-2500k oc'd with a cpu-water cooling system. someone even said you could put 2 7870s... so maybe i'll prolly stick with earthwatts 650
