Is this ram compatible with my motherboard

Yes i have a Biostar Ta970 Ver 5.3 and the ram i am looking at isSK hynix 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800U and wondering if the U will make it not compatible!

best thing to do is go lookup your motherboard on biostar's website and check the supported memory list and see if you can find the brand and model number of the ram in the list

i looked but it said it is not a complete list of rams but only a listed of tested rams! so i could not find said information on the website!

It's good to learn yourself what will work, and how to find if it will work, as suggested above. However, yes, your mobo and ram are compatible.

if it is not able to tell you hen there is no way to give you a 100% guarantee the ram will work but it is rare that certain ram is incompatible. but the sure thing is always go for the most common brands of memory like kingston or corsair
