Is this RAM compatible with this CPU?

Hello i bought a 8GB Corsair vengance LPX DDR4 2400MHz for my Intel core i5 7400.

On the ram box says 1.20v and my processor says DDR4-2133/2400, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V.

Did i bought it wrongly? It will work 100% fine?

Please help me.

It is not so much will the ram work with the CPU, but whether the ram will work with the motherboard. You want to check the QVL of ram vendors that came with the motherboard, or the Corsair website to see if that ram will work in whatever motherboard you have.

It will work. 1.2V is good, better than 1.35V. That is referencing the DDR3L needs to be 1.35V (because the only other DDR3 is higher at 1.5V or 1.65V.) But if you get DDR4 you can use 1.2V.

1-I want 16gb of total ram.Is necessary to buy another stick of ram of the same brand? or it can be another ram as long as the cas latency,ddr4 and speed is the same?

2-I need 16 gb so can i buy two sticks of 4gb each (Cheaper maybe?) and insert them on my mobo saying that is the same model (LPX)

I havent bought the motherboard yet,i have everything else.Im not sure which one is the best for a midrange gamer like me.I have like $200.With a good chipset.I know my processor is not overclockable but my ram yes so it would be a waste of money to buy a Z chipset mobo right?

Preferably with RBG lightning to help me see the connectors and for fanciness xD.

Trying to use unmatched ram is a crapshoot at best, and is never the recommended practice. Even if it is by the same manufacturer, compatibility is not guaranteed. They sell ram in matched sets for a reason.

Buying ram before the motherboard is questionable at best. It is easier to find ram that works in a particular motherboard than a motherboard that will work with a particular ram, especially mis-matched ram!

It could work, but it could not. I matched two separate 1x8GB LPX sticks and they worked, also matched two G.Skill Ripjaws sticks and they worked. But your want to get the same exact specifications such as speed, timings, and voltage to give you the best chance of it working.

I bought ram first because the store that i found it really cheap was going to get out of stock so i was forced to buy one stick quickly before someone buy it.Personally Corsair never has dissapointed me,is the best american in my opinion,i have a corsair power supply and is working perfectly fine without noises and i love it.Is so original brand.The corsair ram in particular is very good.Has good Speed,good heat aluminum dissipation,fast and reccomended by lot of pple.

Getting a motherboard is easy but i couldnt decide.For me ram is hard to find,a good brand and price/quality.Corsair was the right choise for me.

Now im looking for this motherboard,whats ur opinion?

OH NVM,is MICRO ATX,i hate them,i need an ATX form factor because gets less tension overall hardware and components in my rig.

But i already have a samsung 850 VNand 250GB SSD.It could be a waste?

So to clarify on RAM,a 8gb stick will not work with two sticks of 4gb to get a total of 16gb on my mobo even if is the same brand and exact model?

Games this days require so much ram,i get too short with 8gb.Im gonna need to buy another stick of 8gb for the future.

It would work if they were the same spec, but you would rather have memory running in dual-channel. So 2x8GB or 4x4GB is better than 1x8GB + 2x4GB because not all can run in dual-channel, only the 2x4GB will run dual-channel and the 1x8GB will run single-channel.
