hey everyone. i have noticed in a couple of my games i get low fps spikes sometimes. mostly when making fast turns like in skyrim its the worst. i have very odd ram configuration. slot 0 is a corsair domintor ddr2 running at 400 mhz slot 1 is crucial 2 gig at 556 mhz slot 2is 1 gig running at 333mhz. slot 3 is the same

so my question is would this weird configuration make games lag alot?

also i have been wanting to upgrade my cpu. i have a phenom x4 9950 running in an am2+ socket. ive heard that i can drop an am3 chip in and it will work right? will this cpu be a good upgrade? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103893

thank you

well my two main games are bf3 and skyrim. i get about 35-55 fps in bf3 high settings. (i would like it to not drop below 50)
skyrim gets very laggy when turning. like 3 fps. then jumps back to 40- 50 ( again would like it to not drop below 50)

What is your DRAM frequency? Check it from cpu-z. I am thinking it is a rendering problem of cpu/gpu.

You mean when you do 180 degree turn then fps drop to 3 and then jump to 40? Dose it happen in BF3 when you perform 180 turn? If you have witcher 2, then check it there please.
