Question Is this RAM set compatible with my old Motherboard? Help!

Hello,

First of all, these are my computer specs:

• i7 920 @ 2.66Ghz (OC'ed @ 3.80Ghz stable)
• Asus P6T
• 3x2GB RAM (6GB total)
• Asus GTX 1050 - Ti
• 500GB Samsung SSD
• 750W Thermaltake PSU Gold Certified

I am thinking of upgrading it's memory modules to 12GB. The only 3x4GB, DDR3 RAM set I have found being sold near me is the following:

CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9

Strangely enough, it is not listed in the "Corsair Memory Configurator" list of compatible RAM sticks. But on that list, there is a pretty similar one:

CMZ12GX3M3A2000C10

So I'd like to know if the one ending in "1600C9" (the one I can buy right away), is indeed compatible. Help!

Memory Specifications

• Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 24 GB
• Memory Types DDR3 800/1066
• Max # of Memory Channels 3

So any RAM faster than 1066MHz would be limited to that speed.

But my current RAM sticks are already running @1443Mhz (because of the Overclock settings). And they can also be set to run @ 1600Mhz.

Other than that, can we safely assume this RAM set will be compatible with my PC? 🤔

Yes, those are just standard DDR3.

That's what I thought too.

But then again I recently tested another "standard DDR3" RAM Stick on my PC and it would not POST. I am quite confused. Anyway.

I guess I will give it a shot and go ahead and purchase this:

• CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9

Trusting that if the 2000Mhz / C10 is listed as "compatible",
then the 1600 / C9 version of the same model has to be compatible too...
