I ordered an Antec Sonata III from Newegg two weeks ago. I got it last week, and installed everything late last week. Last night, the included Antec EarthWatts 500 power supply died on me. Even though the power supply itself is an individual item sold by Newegg, they are making me return the entire thing (case, manuals....). Ok, maybe I can understand that, but......

They are making me pay for the shipping back to them!! Yeah, instead of simply mailing the defective 7 pound power supply, they are making me mail back all 25 pounds of stuff that came in the original box!! That's $31 for me!! I had free shipping to get it in the first place, now I've got to pay to send back a defective power supply? Does anyone have experience with something similar that might be able to help me out?

I'd ask to speak to a manager. It's ridiculous of them to ask for the entire case/PS to be returned when only the PS is bad. Plus they're wasting Antec's money, because Antec's probably going to have to give you a whole new case and PS instead of just a PS.

Have you tried contacting Antec? They might just ship out a new PS to you.

hold your horses gta_bmx, just recently my Antec p182 had some "issues" and Antec scammed me for nearly 3 weeks until I threatened to sue which finally they sent out my required parts. I'd be careful you might not get anything back.

You really should have called and talked to customer support before doing a return. I mean, it might not have helped but NewEgg has a really really good reputation for customer relations and they probably would have worked with you to keep you happy.
