Is this rig good for 1280*1024

Hi;i'm wondering if this gaming rig is capable of running all games at max setting and at 50+ fps for 3-4 from now,my rig is:

CPU:FX-8350
GPU:GTX 970
RAM:8GB
MoBo:GIGABYTE GA-970a D3P
PSU:XFX 550 WATT

lol! It can do 50+fps at 1080P ultra. So expect that system to last 5+ years.

IF you don't plan on playing mmo's/ rts's and online games that are cpu intensive it will be fine

A GTX970 is somewhat of a waste at 1280x1024. It should be fine at 1080p with most details maxed out in most games.

MMO = massive multiplayer online games like World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, Lord of the Rings Online and others.
RTS = Realtime Strategy games like Starcraft 2, Rome: Total War and others.

Even with the FX-8350 they will run OK, but with that type of games an Intel i5-4690K or i7-4790K will be a bit faster.

GTX 960 should be fine (or slight over-kill), The GTX 750 Ti should probably be fine.

At 1280x1024, you may not even have enough display resolution to see the difference between some the more advanced or minor detail settings intended for QHD/UHD resolution.

Just get the GTX 970 and you're ok.
