There was a thunderstorm a few days ago and some lightning struck really close to home and at the same time, my pc made a loud popping noise then shut off. I panicked so I tried turning it back on immediately but then lightning struck again and the same popping noise was there again. Next I just shut everything off and waited out the storm. Afterwards when I tried turning on the pc again everything was working fine and I checked anywhere I could for any blown capacitors and couldn't find any. Do you guys think it's worth it to keep using this power supply or should I be looking for a replacement right away and what could have caused the popping noise?

Specs
I7 7700
GTX 1070 evga
16gb ddr4
Cx550m power supply

Solution
Good chance there is damaged components inside the PSU based on description. If it's certain it came from PC and not surge protector or similar protection, the safest idea is to shop around being your unit is a CX budget oriented model. If you can spare the money, I'd also recommend a replacement.
