Im getting a new pc. Is psu named Silverstone 700W Strider Essential Gold, 80 Plus Gold good enought for my pc that has msi 980 gaming, 16gb of ram, and i5 4690k
For one thing, this PSU seems to be old since it's not even available on the most common sites like Newegg and Amazon. If you look at the specs page, they blatantly lie about the combined 5V and 3.3V rails. Both rails produce 50W, so the combined should be less than 100W, but they have it labeled as 130W. The operating temperature is laballed as 0C to 40C, and a little higher would be nicer since temps can easily reach above 40C in a computer case. The actual 12 volt rail can produce about 620W, and in the end it seems the whole "700W" is a lie, as in reality it would be lower.
While the 700w isn't listed, the other wattages in that model line are shown as tier 3. From reviews I'm seeing it's an "okay" PSU for single cards but not recommended for sli/crossfire or overclocking. So, you're probably better off looking for something higher up the list.
