Question Is this socket ruined?

Hello guys, few days ago my CPU 14600kf crashed and the PC didn't start anymore. It was still in warranty, so i sent it back and received new one.

After 2 days of use suddenly the PC freeze and i had to hard reset it.

When i was changing the CPUs i spotted this on the mobo, is it damaged?

If a cpu socket pin is broken off, then obviously it is damaged.

Not all pins are essential though. Some are redundant.
You'd have to find function of the missing pin first.

Possible, but unlikely in this situation.

Make sure, you update BIOS to latest version.
There is a possible deterioration fault with 13th and 14th gen Intel core cpus.
BIOS update fixes that.

Also check cpu temperatures.

The bios update prevents the bug. Nothing fixes it if degradation has already occurred. If that's the case RMA is the only fix.

The CPU is 4 days old, since changing from ASUS perfomance profile to BIOS defaults the problem stopped occurring. So i guess the problem is solved.
