Is this something serious?

when i try to "build" pc on this site https://pcpartpicker.com/list/#problems i get this "Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." error is it something serious or it should work fine regardless?

Very serious! Make sure the mobo and it's BIOS is compatible with the CPU. Go on the mobo manufacturer's site and check. If you make a mistake with the compatibility, your system won't boot up.

"May need" is key word but latest production of MBs should come with right BIOS. This way they are just covering their asses.
