Question Is this switch possible?

Msi geforce gtx 1060 gaming x 6gb
4x2= 8gb ram
Motherboard: GA-78LMT-S2)


I want to transfer all the above to this motherboard (M5A78L-M Plus) mainly due to the cpu not supporting the above motherboard, I don’t plan on changing anything else anytime soon even though they are due for an upgrade, due to budget reasons. Is this possible?

Is it required? If it is, I don’t mind doing.
When swapping the base platform, the motherboard, there are 3 possible outcomes:
  1. It works just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks.
Just today, I've come across 3 people here with #3.
A fresh install is strongly recommended, usually required.

For the OS activation, read and do this before you change any parts:
