Is this temperature safe?

So i recently installed Core Temp because i game on my laptop ( link dont know if this works since its a portuguese link) and the surface gets so hot that i cant even touch it and im scared.

For example when im using it for watching videos its on the 50-60ºC, if i plug my pc to the tv to watch videos in a bigger screen it gets to 70-80 .As soon as i start CS:GO it goes straight for the 90-99 but never passes 100. Fans are working and going up as the temperature rises.

Lately i noticed the pc gets slow on startup before password screen and actually saying, "please wait" after a black screen. i bought it on 2013

Can You type here Your notebook type? 90-99°C is not safe at any circumstances. Your mobile CPU shouldn't most likely go over 70°C, Your mobile GPU shouldn't go over 70-75°C, max. is 80°C. And chipset shouldn't go over 60°C.

Have you cleaned the dust out of the exhaust vents with compressed air? Dust build-up could be the cause of overheating.

No, i know i should but cince you talk about it i have one question , if i buy a can of compressed air and just aim at the exhaust vents wont the fan spin at sangerous speeds that could damage it?

Use a toothpick or something similar to keep the fan stationary while spraying the compressed air.

CPU has threshold at 105°C, but ~100°C us crazy. Graphics card has tops of 93 or 98°C, but also is too hat going anzthing above 80°C.

Compressed air won't hurt Your notebook, but won't help it either, not much. Spray has about 0,8-1,2 bars of pressure, it's really nothing, and is good only for rough stuff. If You want fine cleaning, go get compressor, and run it at 4-6 bars. I use one, it never damages anything, don't worry.

P.S.: You can only kill fan, if it's used to brused conditions, that bad maintenance caused. You can get a new one on e-bay, for 20-30 euro + You can re-tim [clean old tim, apply a new one] the whole notebook, and You're gonna be like new

The canned compressed air will blow the matted dust away from the backside of the cooling fins just fine. Just make sure to use the included straw to concentrate the airflow. Your best course of action would actually be disassembling the laptop to remove the dust. But many folks don't care to bother.

P.S. The fan CAN be damaged by being over revved too high by the compressed air, which can generate excessive heat in the bearings.

1shado1 - I used canned air for decade and half, and no...it won't. It can get a rid of rough dirt and dust, but not the baked in one. And when You take to account he's running inferno on daily basis, it most likely won't be enough. Getting a new fan, and reapplying thermal interface material is much much better solution.

I suppose you could be right. It has always worked for me when I haven't felt like disassembling my laptops. But then again, I was using it every couple of months. A couple year build-up probably would be too much.

I wouldn't play games or anything else cpu/gpu intensive until the problem is rectified.

1shado1 - cans are great for fresh and mildly formed and resident dust, but not for the fried one. The fried one without a proper air burst will most likely damage the ball bearings, or the fluid, air cushion bearing of the fan, and than the fan is done for.

Funny thing is, I killed a few fans with cans, but none with compressor. It gives almost no logic, right? Also, cans produce tons of condensation, like really solid, whilst compressor spits out pure air [You need to have a modeller compressor, of course, otherwise it spits out oil ]

But if You're afraid of disassembling the notebook, go wit the air can first, or borrow compressor, and clean it thoroughly. If You were in Slovakia, I could do it for You. And if that won't help, youtube and new fan all the way.

ok ill try the can , if nothing happens well ill try to open it and do that.

Should i go to local pc stores, maybe they help me with this.

Man1ac123 - if You don't have enough cash for a new one, in case You'd killed this one, definitely get new fan on e-bay/amazon, and go to the local computer store/technician, and ask him how much does he want for it. It shouldn't go over 20-40 euro, per such a service.
