Hello, about two years ago I purchased a computer that has 4 X 2G of DDR3 RAM.
I'm building a new system and want to save some parts.
This is what I want to buy.

ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

ATI 5770.

But I'm not sure if my old DDR3 is compatible with this new motherboard.
On the RAM label it says something like this:

2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600U-9-10-B0
0922

The motherboard only supports:
DDR3 1866/1800/1600/1333/1066
Will this RAM be compatible.
Also what could happen If It's not compatible, and I still put the RAM inside?
Will it destroy the motherboard?
Or just not start?

Solution
That ram is 1333MHz and should be supported. With 4 modules installed you will be able to run it in dual channel but with 3 in triple channel.
