Hey community,

I am planning to delete my RAID 0 setup, and only use one of the hard drives only. I know what to do, but I want to see if I did it correctly. So, here is what I am going go do:

1. Delete my RAID 0 setup.
2. Format both of my hard drives (when install windows).
3. Shutdown computer.
4. Disconnect one of the hard drives and reconnect one of the hard drives, and optical drive correctly.
5. Install operating system, drivers, and programs.

So, any experts out there, am I planning it correctly? Or I did something wrong? Any suggestions or comments will be appericated, thank you.

Solution
1.) Delete your RAID-0 setup in RAID BIOS.
2.) Reboot into BIOS and change SATA mode to AHCI.
3.) Shut down computer.
4.) Disconnect 1 HDD.
5.) Install Windows (Windows will automatically format the drive during installation).
6.) Shut down computer and connect 2nd HDD.
7.) Boot into Windows, go to Disk Management, initialize 2nd HDD, Quick Format it, and assign it a drive letter.

Oh yeah. I forgot step two as well. I am not doing to use the second hard drive, since it's like four years old, SATA 3/gbits. I don't it to crash, losing all my files. I will ignore step 6 and 7, and install drivers and programs. Is that okay? Thanks.

Wait, I got one more question. After I delete my RAID setup, and put SATA mode to AHCI, can I format the hard drives first when installing windows? Then I will shut down and disconnect one of the hard drives. Is that okay? Thanks. 😀

That's what I am trying to say. Like I am going to put the windows installation disk, then I will format both hard drives during this installation process. Then I will shutdown the computer, disconnect one of the hard drives, and do the windows installation again. Do you get me now? Sorry for the confusion.

Alright, thanks for the help. Hope everything will work fine for me, since this is the first time I am doing this. Thanks again.
