I visited my brother yesterday and i connected my Lenovo Legion Y720 laptop to his monitor, an Asus VC239. And when i connected my laptop, i noticed that the image quality was very weird, almost like the contrast was over the top, like my wallpaper with the lenovo "Y" logo had a black out line around the edges when looking at it through the Asus monitor, but when looking through my laptop's monitor, it didnt have a black out line. And when watching movies, it didnt feel natural, either that or im just not used to it because Ive always used the laptop screen as my main monitor.

I uploaded the pictures of the screens with my phone, here are the links:

Should I expect this kind of difference when I decide to buy my own external monitor?
I am planning on buying a new 144hz monitor from a company called Gamdias, Few of my friends bought it and they said they didnt have any problems with it after owning it for a year.

Different screens, different video connections, different contrast/brightness/color settings, different size screens will all cause the image to look different. You can only really compare like things to find out if something is "wrong" with the image. Like if you had two of those same monitors with the same settings and one looked different.
