Build below is for a friend; use will be Premiere Pro, gaming and general use.

I suspect that eventually he will update the GPU.
$0 items are already in house.

Is 750W for this build too much?
Is the new WD nvme SSD a good candidate for his application?

Thanks!

Very Nice PSU choice, you could drop down to a 650W if you wanted to save some money but looking at the component list it doesn't seem like that's much of a concern :)

Personally I'd have trouble convincing myself the 9900K is worth the price premium over a 9700K or even 8700K

Great...I thought maybe it should be a 650W...thanks.
I assume the brand is a good one as well....yes?

Also, if I may given this case will be on his desk, he is thinking about an RGB cooler instead of the one specified.
Are there any that won't affect thermal performance that you could recommend?

Again, thanks.

Thanks....his plan is to wait until it at least comes down to around MSRP (we have $530 plugged in as a place holder).

750W gives plenty of upgrade room and better cabling options than the 650W vers.

Excellent...thanks guys.

If I may another request: my friend, whom this build is for requested that if there is an RGB air cooler that will work as good as the one in the build it would be great, given the case will be on his desk. Would you guys know of any that could dissipate heat of a mildly overclocked 9900K and look good, while not generating too much noise?

Again, thanks.

Yeah, I got a lot of advice to stick with air....its very effective, dry and quieter....oh, and less expensive. Did you find an RGB unit that you could recommend? I am concerned given the heat generating properties of this CPU>

Thanks

People with NH D15's are doing fine on air with the 9900K.

So timing is everything, they say...I just happen to be reading an article in Tom's describing testing of the 9900K, and came across these two sentences: "This would dissuade us from air cooling, even if the Intel Core i9-9900K should not be overclocked any further. The 4.7 GHz all-core and a constant load are quite sufficient to make air cooling absurd."

This is the article: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-core-i9-9900k-9th-gen-cpu,5847-12.html

Or am I missing something?

They didn't test it on air so it's not relevant.

True, but it seems that they know what their doing so their opinions should carry some weight?
