The current RAM set up is 2x1GB. I want to add 2x2GB of RAM.
I use my pc for gaming, 3D rendering, recording with fraps etc.
Is this possible? Is it going to make a great difference? ;)

Yes it is possible and will certainly make a world of a difference. Better still since you have a 64Bit OS why not Opt for 2X4GB and have 8GB of RAM, since the programs that you use are pretty heavy on the RAM the more of it you have the better for you.
Read thru this too before you go and buy some RAM.

And while you're thinking about it adding a nice GPU will make that rig rock.
It's really worth the upgrade.

I'm on a pretty tight budget so I think I can only squeeze about 50 euros to get myself some extra 2x2gb of ram. :/ and as I have just bought a new graphics card last year I'm not really looking for that. (I have the GTX460 OC edition from Gigabyte)

But in terms of rendering, will I see a huge difference between rendering with 2gb vs 6gb? :)

The difference will be visible, since u have lowest amount of RAM that W7x64bit needs, get the RAM and increase the page file to 4GB or even 6GB.

Try it out and u will se that u will benefit from it.
