Currently im using a i3 3220 and i wanna upgrade to i3 4170/4160 is it worth it?
the main reason im upgrading is because i fell a lot of shuttering in games like gta 5.

no, for gta 5 you want minimum a i5

i3 4170/60 wont fit in your motherboard.

Your motherboard is 1155 socket and i3 4160/70 are 1150 socket

And that is not true you cant play GTA 5 if you dont have i5

you can play it with an i3 if you like lag fests, it is very cpu intensive.

OP HAS an i3, he said it sucks.

I suggest grabbing a i5 3470.

I don't trust techspot with cpu benchmarks after they were caught using gpu bound sections for cpu testing.
