is this version of windows 8 compatible

will a hp version of windows 8 work on any computer, i got it from my uncle ( i'm not sure where he gets this stuff) and it says it is only for reinstallation or repair so will it work on a fresh hard drive and non hp computer

Will it install? Probably (but maybe not). But you will need your own license key to go through the whole install.
